Health is our #1 Asset

An eventful commute to the chiropractic office last week got me thinking about health. Osborne St in Winnipeg was closed by the police one morning, and it resulted in me taking a lot of deserted back roads, and somehow (still not sure) ending up in the rapid transit only bus lanes (not joking!). After some mad scrambling, and frantically turning on my GPS, and some weird looks by the bus drivers, I made it back to where I needed to be.

This has me thinking of the detours that we take with our health, and the long, confusing roads we often have to navigate through to try to get it back (if that is even an option).

Finding your way back to health

When I ask people what the most important thing in their life is, in most cases the response is one of the following: family, relationships, or career. When it comes to important things in life people don’t like to think about themselves first. We rarely put ourselves first, we are often thinking about others, but to what end?

If you don’t tune out the safety presentation before a flight then you’ll know that in the case of an emergency and the oxygen masks drop down, put your own mask on before you help others. Why is this? Because you can’t help others if you don’t help yourself first. This is how we need to approach our health!

The most important thing to me in my life is my family, however my number one priority is my own health. Investing in my health is something I do every day. By working out at the gym, making good choices with my nutrition, and getting my chiropractic wellness adjustments I am able to stay healthy. I make that choice and that commitment to my health every day. I don’t want to take a detour from my health, it is the most important asset I, or anyone else, will ever own. Without it the most important thing; my family, suffers.

Without health we have nothing. The best choice you could ever make is to recommit to your health now. End the detour, and start investing in your health and your future. When we have our health we don’t think too much about it, it is only when you lose it that you will go to the ends of the earth to get it back.
